Our mission is to encourage people to wear organic cotton clothes. This is our way of contributing to help reduce groundwater pollution and greenhouse effect. This is our philosophical approach to reduce global warming.
Zeme and its suppliers have Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS) certification. Our products are made in India. Zeme uses GOTS certified organic materials to produce 100% organic cotton clothes. We use only biodegradable, AZO free dyes which are eco friendly to the environment and toxic free for you. About us
In December 2007, Arati Nagaraja founded Zeme Organics Pvt. Ltd. in India. Zeme , an organic cotton clothing company was envisioned in the spring of 2006 in San Francisco, USA. While studying at Golden Gate University, Arati worked as an intern for an organic clothing company in San Francisco. Arati, being an entrepreneur, used the work experience to her advantage and started Zeme Organics to design and market organic cotton clothes. The word ” Žemė ” means ‘mother earth’ in Latvian and Lithuanian mythology.
Arati likes hiking, collects laughing buddha and enjoys traveling the world. She is a fervent admirer of wildlife and strongly believes in wildlife conservation and protection. She is one of the founders of Tigers unlimited wildlife society (TUWS), a non profit organization and volunteers as Treasurer/ Organization & Development Director for TUWS. Zeme Organics contributes a fraction of its profits to TUWS.
